"For the Sake of Keeping."
This ceramic wall hanging is inspired by rainbows and the folklore surrounding them. Throughout history, rainbows have been a symbol of hope, luck, fortune and wishes coming true. Sighting a rainbow has long been believed to be a promise of good things to come, they bring fresh beginnings and new prosperity. The arch shapes are also reminiscent of lucky horse shoes.
The Coldfall Wood Rainbow is named after one of the four ancient woodlands in the borough of Haringey, London. All four of these woods are thought to be the direct descendants of the original Wild Wood, which covered most of Britain until 5000 years ago. As rainbows have been shrouded with mystery, it is only befitting to give them each a name of an ancient woodland, which too would have been a place of enigma.
This beautifully, handmade item has been crafted from stoneware clay, textured using natural, foraged finds and hand painted in earthy glazes. This ceramic piece comes with a tag with a description of the luck, encompassing the rainbow.

Each piece is individual, bearing the same colours and similarities, with subtle differences in glaze and size. Please note the outer arch of this rainbow is brown with speckles of blue, the intensity of the blue can vary from piece to piece.

The length of this piece is 34 cm and its width at its widest point being 18 cm, both measurements are approximate.
