This piece is part of the Full Moon Collection. It has been handmade using a dark, stoneware clay, slab-built and hand manipulated to create the form. Each full moon circle has been textured using natural foraged finds and assembled together using cotton coated wire and placed together on a piece of foraged drift wood. It has been hand-painted in a creamy, white tone, light speckles of the clay can been seen through the glaze. The colour of the glaze has been inspired by a walking trail running through a network of fields, between the towns of Leigh and Atherton, in the north of England. This was my favourite Sunday walk! The colour of this piece reminds me of the fading light over the fields of wild grasses, which have been bleached by the summer sun to reveal a soft, milky tone.
Each piece is individual, bearing the same colours and similarities, with subtle differences in glaze and size.
Dimensions approx: 42 cm at longest point and 32 cm drop. These measurements are taken from the drift wood.
