This piece has been handmade using a dark, stoneware clay, slab-built and hand manipulated to create the form, hand-painted in an earthy tone. The Lilford Woods platter set is versatile in its use: use as an entertaining platter or separately as a plate and bowl. This piece is named after a woodland space called Lilford Woods, a place of memories for me, as I have walked through this wood during the different seasons. The texture and colour of this set is inspired by the transition in tone and light from the end of Autumn to the beginning of Winter, when the sun is low in the sky and the woods take on an air of stillness.
Each piece is individual, bearing the same colours and similarities, with subtle differences in glaze and size.
All items are food safe and dishwasher safe. Please remember that hand-washing is always kinder to your hand-crafted item.
