The Mushroom Mug has been handmade using a dark, stoneware clay, slab-built and hand manipulated to create the form. The spots of the mushroom are textured using natural, foraged finds. The image of the mushroom has been hand carved in the clay. Hand-painted in a creamy, white tone, light speckles of the clay can been seen through the glaze. This glaze is named after a walking trail running through a network of fields, between the towns of Leigh and Atherton, in the north of England. The colour of this mug has been inspired by the fading light over the fields of wild grasses, which have been bleached by the summer sun to reveal a soft, milky tone.
Each piece is individual, bearing the same colours and similarities, with subtle differences in glaze and size. The rim of the mug is not perfectly round, you could say "Perfect Imperfect" just how I like it! All items are food safe and dishwasher safe. Please remember that hand-washing is always kinder to your hand-crafted item.
