The Long Causeway Plate has been handmade using a dark, stoneware clay, slab-built and hand manipulated to create the form. Hand-painted in a creamy, white tone, light speckles of the clay can been seen through the glaze. This piece is named after a walking trail running through a network of fields, between the towns of Leigh and Atherton, in the north of England. This was my favourite Sunday walk! The colour of this mug has been inspired by the fading light over the fields of wild grasses, which have been bleached by the summer sun to reveal a soft, milky tone. This was my favourite Sunday walk!
Each piece is individual, bearing the same colours and similarities, with subtle differences in glaze and size. The rim of the plate is not perfectly round, you could say "Perfect Imperfect" just how I like it!
All items are food safe and dishwasher safe. Please remember that hand-washing is always kinder to your hand-crafted item.
